ABOUT

Our Roots

Black Wall Street USA knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. Back in 1998, our Non-Profit Organization realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch Black Wall Street USA.

OUR HISTORICAL INSPIRATION

Why We Do What We Do

We owe a great deal to our ancestors in the Greenwood district.

O. W. GURLEY

The Greatest Visionary

In 1906, Gurley moved to Tulsa where he purchased 40 acres of land which was “only to be sold to colored”. Black ownership was unheard of at that time.

DR. A. C. JACKSON

The Great Physician

Dr. Jackson created some of the most innovative surgical tools that are still being used today post modifications and surgical and technological advancements. Surgical students the world over have been influenced by this great surgeon’s contribution to the medical community.

We urge you to commit your life to learn more and more about the tyrannical act and degradation of slavery in the United States of America. You don’t know enough and that is not okay. The Black Wall Street USA Slavery Project

Revival and Recovery

The BWSUSA & Salvation Army Redemption Project are committed to investing our expertise and resources in order to further achieve our cause. Since March 2000, the Redemption Project has been supporting our community members in a variety of ways and measuring our success not by monetary size, but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts.
